BLUE LINE (until May 2013: "Hiawatha Line"): 19.7 km, 19 stops (Airport Lindbergh Terminal underground)

- opened 26 June 2004 from downtown to Fort Snelling
- extended 04 Dec 2004 to Mall of America
- links downtown Minneapolis, Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport and the Mall of America in Bloomington
- operated by MetroTransit (Route 55)
- short northern extension opened 14 Nov 2009, to serve the Northstar commuter rail station in service since 16 Nov 2009
- American Boulevard station added on 12 Dec 2009
- planned to be extended northwest to Brooklyn Park and Osseo

GREEN LINE ("Central Corridor"): 17.6 km (2.5 km of which are shared with Blue Line)

- opened 14 June 2014
- links downtown Minneapolis to downtown St. Paul, running mostly along University Avenue, next to re-opened Amtrak Union Depot

- being extended southwest to Eden Prairie as SouthWest LRT [Project Website]
