The Dutch city of Utrecht has one 'Sneltram' line, running from the Centraal Station south to Nieuwegein (line 60), with a branch to IJsselstein (line 61). There are no underground sections, but the route is entirely on a separate right-of-way with several level crossings; using high platforms, which are currently being rebuilt to connect the line with the new tram line to Science Park. The Uithoflijn, a low-floor light rail line from Centraal Station to Uithof, in the east of the city, bypassing the city centre on the southern side, eventually opened in Dec 2019: 7.5 km, 9 stops. Operated by Qbuzz; 1435 mm gauge |
