Light Rail
- 2 lines, actually part of the large Karlsruhe Stadtbahn network
- S4 route length approx. 2.7 km of urban section between Hauptbahnhof and Pfühlpark; with through running on DB railway tracks (Kraichgaubahn), in the west to Karlsruhe, and in the east to Öhringen;
- S42 sharing tracks with S4 through the city centre up to Harmonie, then on a new 6.2 km urban section, partly parallelling existing railway, to Neckarsulm, where trains will switch to DB tracks to continue further north to Mosbach and Sinsheim in the future.

- 1435 mm gauge; dual system operation
- S4 urban section served every 10/20 minutes, with hourly service to Karlsruhe; S42 served every 30 minutes.
